China Mobile sends out a reminder when your account reaches a particularly low balance, but these messages tend to get lost amongst all the other junk mail. If you missed it, don’t worry. There’s still hope! Write a text message that says Hfcx (and nothing else) and send it to the number 10086. A few seconds later, you’ll get a return message.
This new message is, of course, all in Chinese, but if you scroll down, there will be two numbers followed by a yuan symbol (元). The first number tells you how much you spent last month, and the second number is your current balance. Keep in mind, though, that I’ve only tested this with phones bought in Jiangsu province. The rules may be different in other parts of the country. Feel free to share them if they exist.
Clark,it doesn’t apply here in hefei…
Okay. I was afraid it was a regional trick.
Hfcx does not work here in Guangdong province but HF returns three numbers the first one is your remaining balance the second is your paid balance and the third your bonus. The last two adding up to your available balance.
PS This works ok on 2G services still cannot get it to work on 3G services
Sending YE to 10086 returns your china mobile account balance on both 2G and 3G services here in Guangdong
how to check mobile credits in website and on which websites?
I think you can check your balance on the China Mobile website, but it’s all in Chinese, so I never bothered to figure it out.
Am a foreigner from Africa. I live in Nanjing. Am getting trouble to check the credit balance by any way. I don’t understand Chinese language yet. So i cannot listen to the compurised instructions. I would like to check by text. How to do that Pls. I have tried all the ways and advices written in webs but no success. Pls help me.
I really thought Hfcx would work for all of Jiangsu province. You are using China Mobile, correct? You may just have to ask a Chinese friend or co-worker what they do.
i am a band singer here in yiwu, zhejang province china and Hfcx works on me thanx for the info……
can anybody give an idea how can i call overseas?.. i try china mobile instruction but it keeps saying that i should register it first…too bad i suck in Chinese…:(
I don’t know about calling overseas from a mobile phone. It would probably be easier to just download Skype on your computer and add $10 worth of credits. This is how I always called my parents in the US from China.
In Shanghai I called 10086 and got my balance in english
