One Week of US Culture

My fiancee from China has been in the US for little over a week now, and it’s been a real eye-opening experience for her. Here are some of her initial impressions:

1. The streets are much less crowded.

2. The air is cleaner.

3. Panda Express sucks.

4. All of the drinks served to you are too cold.

5. You have a chance to see animals outside of a zoo.

More to come later!

And don’t forget… the candy is TOO sweet!

lol @ the candy. My wife was also complaining about how sweet all of our candies and baked goods are and would bring back cakes, pies, and candies from Chinatown that I at first thought were too bland. After eating them rather steadily I actually prefer them and now feel like I am eating a bag of sugar anytime I eat an American baked good. Thank goodness she took to eating Mexican food though, it took her a while, but now she loves the stuff.

After eating “bland” husband and wife pies for so long in China, I also find American desserts too sweet. I was that way about cold drinks, too, since ice is such a rarity in China.
