Sample Chapter: Middle School Classroom

I’ve finally gone all the way through the China book again and edited every chapter, but that doesn’t mean I’m completely happy with it and ready to start pitching it to agents. I’ll give a copy to a few friends to proofread, then go over it one more time on my own. It’s a book, not a blog. I gotta get it right the first time!

This will probably be the last sample chapter I post, as I don’t want to spoil too much of the book online. It’s another teaching chapter that takes place near the end, dealing with my first few weeks at the middle school. I called it The Middle School Classroom. It’s not a funny title like the ones before, but I was running out of ideas. Gimme a break.

Some funny stuff! I think this would really appeal to readers who teach or who have ever substituted. I like how the smiley and angry frowny faces tie the whole memory together.

No, that probably won’t happen for a long time. I still need to proofread it a few more times.
