Visiting Arches National Park… Again?

There weren’t a lot of things Sarah knew about Utah before she moved here, but Arches National Park was one of them, so… off we went. This marked the first time she’s ever been on a real hike, as “hiking” in China must be mentioned with quotation marks around it. Walking in sand and climbing over rocks is much different than ascending a stone stairway with handrails.

The trip was new for me, too, or at least… I think it was. I can’t remember if I’ve ever been to Arches before. It seems like my Boy Scout troop went there when I was younger, because I remember a boy pointing at an arch and saying, “One time, some kids got stuck up there, and a helicopter had to come save them. True story!” But, again, I have no idea which national park we were really at.

Sadly, any traveling I did as a kid is long gone from my memory, which means I need to go back to Yellowstone sometime, because I don’t recall a single thing about it, either. I guess that’s one advantage to being older… you appreciate traveling a lot more. And now that Sarah is here, I have another excuse to hit up some of these places again.
